Regarding the recent terrorist outbreak, Renzi noted that “the Italian secret services are working in an exemplary manner”. On further military operations abroad, the PM answered that such initiatives should have a strategy for the future, not just the present.

On the refugee crisis, the head of the Italian government noted that the main priority should always be the rescuing of humans yet “Europe should combine international co-operation strategies with the relocation process, otherwise the system will not withstand”.

On the most recent plan for the restructuring of the Monte dei Paschi di Siena bank M.Renzi said that he “acted along with the FinMin Pier Carlo Padoan in encouraging a solution from within the market” because “it is not right that, for the faults of the politicians and the bankers, citizens should pay”.

Finally the Italian PM reckoned that if banks were to sell their “red” loans that would be the most efficient growth measure since, if this happens “credit can be given to medium/small businessmen, manufacturers and households”.
