The government party of Denmark issued a statement according to which the EU should put an end to any negotiations and discussion concerning the membership of Turkey into the EU.
According to the statement, the non-democratic actions of the Turkish president T.Erdogan are those which have put Turkey outside any kind of European path. The spokesperson of the party on foreign affairs, Michael Aastrup Jensen spoke to Reuters where he said the “The red line which should be the minimum for a country eligible to enter the EU, has been overstepped…This should not only lead to a stop of the negotiations but to the striking off of Turkey from the list of candidate countries”.
On Sunday the Austrian foreign minister threatened to veto all negotiations between the EU and Turkey.
