The Turkish Justice minister said on Friday that authorities have already released 33.838 prisoners, as planned.

Released inmates are freed under under judicial supervision or suspension, as part of the reform of Turkey’s penal system. Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag made the comments in a news conference.  
 
In the aftermath of the July coup attempt to topple President Tayyip Erdogan, his government has also dismissed some 80.000 people from public posts.
